Our Hometown Hero: Aaron S. Harper

Aaron S. Harper was a true legend in the world of basketball. As an international, professional basketball player he left an indelible mark on the sport. But his love for basketball started long before he became a professional athlete, played for Provine High in Jackson, Mississippi, and The University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi. He was a true athlete, with a passion for sports that was evident in everything he did. But more than that, Aaron was someone who loved life, and his family. He was a inspiration to all who knew him. His legacy will live on for generations to come.

Aaron's life was cut short, but his legacy lives on. He was a true to everyone who knew him, and his love for life and sports was infectious. He was a role model for young athletes everywhere, and his dedication to the sport of basketball was unparalleled. Aaron's legacy will continue to inspire future generations of basketball players, and his impact on the sport will never be forgotten. We can all learn from Aaron's example, and strive to live our lives with the same passion and dedication that he brought to everything he did.

During his junior year of at Provine High School, his basketball team won the 6A State Championship (1998) and he went on to graduate in 1999. Aaron received a full athletic scholarship to Ole Miss, where his team went on to the Sweet Sixteen for the first time in school history (2001). Shortly after, Aaron began his incredible journey as an international athlete where he won a championship title in Roanne, France in 2007 and another championship with Marino in 2014.

Throughout his career, Aaron was awarded multiple MVP awards, recognized as a top 3-point shooter, and 2x Pro All-star (2006 & 2007). He also won Championships with Chorale Roanne (2007) and with the Marinos (2014). Additionally, playing in the 2010 Bulkan League winning the Bulgarian Cup and playing in the 2011 Bulgarian League All-star game.
